Abstract

The article is focusing on long-term clinical performance of various nanocomposite materials in Class II restorations over the course of 12 months. 46 patients participated in the study, 91 teeth (permanent molars) were treated. In group 1, restorations of carious cavities were performed with nanohybrid (Filtek Z500), in group 2- nanofilled (Filtek Ultimate) 3 – with ceramic composite (Zenit) and microhybrid Spectrum was used as a control. The restorations were assessed ac- cording to the USPHS criteria. Long-term results of restoration were clinically acceptable in all groups. No replacement of fillings was required. The frequency of the loss of marginal adaptation and marginal discoloration were decreased in the range: Filtek Z500 ˃ Filtek Ultimate ˃ Spectrum ˃ Zenit), always within clinically acceptable limits. Surface rough- ness occurred in one Filtek Z550 and Spectrum restorations, postoperative sensitivity occurred in Filtek Z550 and Filtek Ultimate restorations.
