The article presented the results of a number of clinical studies conducted in 2008–2014 by the department of internal diseases of the faculties of pediatrics and dentistry. The studies aimed to assess cardio-, nephro- and hepatoprotective effects of myocardial cytoprotectors used in patients with chronic heart failure and metabolic syndrome or diabetes mellitus type 2.We revealed cardio-, nephro-, and hepatoprotective effects of the drugs under study, a positive effect of meldonium and 2-ethyl-6-methl-3-hydroxypiridine succinate on the indicators of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, insulin resistance,manifestations of chronic systemic inflammation as well as their antioxidant properties.
