The problem of spinal cord injury and its reparative capacity have been the subject of much research and discussion for a long time. If the morphological characteristics of trauma and restoration of the peripheral nerve have been studied sufficiently, then the phenomenon of spontaneous restoration of the function of the spinal cord after its transection, until recently, was considered impossible, and reparation using various techniques, ineffective and does not proceed according to the usual scenarios of restoration fabrics. This article discusses the stage of studying the effect of chitosan and its modifications on some morphological processes occurring at the site of spinal cord injury.
