One of the mechanisms for increasing the efficiency of drug wholesalers is the optimization of assortment policy management in order to ensure the profitability of both wholesale organizations themselves and to maintain the socially necessary level of consumption of drugs and other pharmaceutical goods sold to the population through retail pharmacy organizations. The article presents the results of content analysis of scientific works on management and marketing, as well as regulatory legal acts in relation to the wholesale segment of the sphere of drug circulation. The basic principles are considered and general and specific factors affecting the wholesale organizations of the Russian pharmaceutical market in the formation and management of the assortment policy are analyzed.
