Features and clinical course of infectious mononucleosis in children living in the Volgograd region and the experience of using recombinant interferons for treatment

Abstract

The article presents data on the study of the clinical course of infectious mononucleosis in 227 patients aged 1 to 14 years living in the Volgograd city and in the region. It has been established that at the present days the disease retains all characteristic clinical features and signs. A study of the effectiveness of recombinant interferon α-2β therapy was carried out in 153 patients. The clinical efficacy of a 5-day course of therapy has been established. The effectiveness of treatment was manifested by a decrease in the duration of fever, lymphoproliferative syndrome, more rapid relief of cytolysis syndrome.
