The article presents data on the frequency of varicella encephalitis in children, the clinical features of disease. It has been shown that varicella encephalitis complicates the course of varicella in 3,6 % of hospitalized children, most often affecting boys aged 3 to 8 years. In the clinic encephalitis occurs as cerebellite, has an infectious-allergic pathogenesis and favorable course of disease.
