Isolation of microsomes from rat liver: an optimization protocol

Abstract

The current study was undertaken to optimize the experimental protocol of the rat liver microsome isolation. To verify the feasibility of the method, we evaluated respiratory chain activity of microsomes using a fluorometric method. We conclude that the optimized protocol can be used at the initial stage of in vitro drug metabolism studies.
