Abstract

A survey of 219 special education teachers, 134 of which are vocational training specialists, 67 psychiatrists, 39 medical psychologists and 24 social workers showed that adolescents with mental retardation are ineffectively integrated into society. This is accounted for by employer reluctance to hire these workers due to employment-related stigmas.
