Abstract

One of the most common diseases of the oral mucosa is lichen planus, which is characterized by a variety of forms, staging complexity of diagnosis and frequent malignancy in the oral cavity. Despite the large variety of drugs and achievements of modern science enabling to speed up the regeneration process, treatment of lichen planus remains a challenge. Early diagnosis of diseases of the oral mucosa has been shown to reduce the recovery time. Doppler flow- metry holds potential as a useful tool for evaluating microcirculatory disorders in the oral cavity. The article analyzes amplitude-frequency spectra at the symmetrical sites of infection in patients with lichen planus. We compared the ob- tained findings with the control (healthy) group of patients. Laser Doppler flowmetry is a non-invasive imaging technique which is highly sensitive, objective and can be used to assess blood supply to the tissue.
