Abstract

The article presents a retrospective review of the application of different organisms as biological models for exploring induced mutagenesis. It also describes the emergence of the state regulation system of testing mutagenic properties of chemicals in different countries. The properties and qualities of the various model organisms used for detecting mutagenesis are analyzed.
