Over recent years the effects of various dental diseases and methods of treatment on the immunological reactivity of the organism have often been addressed. Immune components of gingival fluid are important for immunological protection of the oral cavity. We carried out a comprehensive examination and treatment of 40 patients who were divided into 2 groups: group 1 included patients with chronic generalized periodontitis (CGP) of moderate severity and metabolic syndrome; group 2 (control) included individuals with intact periodontium. After a comprehensive examination and treatment of patients with CGP accompanied by metabolic syndrome (MS) we noted positive dynamics of clinical and immunological parameters.
