The article analyzed the findings of an anonymous survey of dentistry students of VolgSMU which aimed to find out how they estimate their own competence in various sections of dental subjects. The authors developed a questionnaire which can be used by graduate students to assess their expertise in the field. The survey is of great importance as it helped to reveal the sections which are most difficult to comprehend and, finally, to improve the teaching process.
