The paper traces correspondencies between the classification of pulpitis and periodontitis accepted in the Russian Federation, and the international classification of diseases. Consistent systematization can guide dentists in making the diagnosis, keeping medical records; it will also provide for methodological unity and comparability of outcomes of dental diseases within the country and on international scope.
