Assessment of dental status in patients with schizophrenia

Abstract

Patients with schizophrenia seldom comply with oral hygiene. Diseases of the oral cavity are more often observed in those patients who stay in a mental hospital for a long period of time. The more malignant is the co urse of schizophrenia and the more obvious are the negative symptoms, the more evident are the signs of dental diseases.
