Abstract

Our research aims at morphologic and anatomical investigation of Inula helenium L. herb to define its diagnostic properties. We established specific features of the сentral axis cylinder structure of the stem (location of diastaltic fascicules in two rows in a staggered order relative to each other; larger fascicules are along the external perimeter of a cut in the projection of stiffeners; the inner circle is smaller); exserted stomata above the epidermis surface, single-celled and multi-celled simple hairs with essential-oil glands can be used as diagnostic properties in determining authenticity of the herbal raw material and in further study of the herb.
