We proposed a morphofunctional approach to studying the pathogenesis of postoperative adhesion formation in the abdominal cavity, which allows an assessment of the link between the NO-system, the extent of postoperative endothelial dysfunction with morphological peritoneal structure, organization of peritoneal fluid, the rate of adhesion formation so as to develop new methods of its prevention and diagnostics.
