Pathomorphological changes of the rat uterus in alimentary magnesium deficiency and its pharmacological correction by magnesium sulfate

Abstract

Effect of magnesium deficiency causes morphological changes in the uterus, which were nonspecific and were characterized by swelling and degeneration of cells, as well as varying degrees of severity of lymphocytic and eosinophilic infiltration. After pharmacological correction by magnesium sulfate a development of compensatory-adaptive reactions of the endometrium and myometrium was noted, which was characterized by a change in the thickness of the myometrium and the restoration of endometrial glands.
