Abstract

Modern concept of treating combined trauma and evidence-based principles of the organization of medical aid to patients with severe trauma are stated. Definition of trauma system is proposed and its basic elements are described. The basic problems in the organization of medical aid to patients with severe trauma existing in the region are outlined. The goals, organizational requirements for effective functioning of trauma centers of level 1, 2, 3 are defined. Principles of work of trauma centers of level 1—2 are described. Prospects of professional training for trauma specialists in the Volgograd region are discussed.
