Abstract

A manually driven rotary instrument with 2,35 mm ISO burs was used for I, II, III and V class cavity preparation in 337 temporary teeth. 374 cavities were filled with Vitremer and FUGI IX glass-ionomer cements. Retention of GIC after 24 month evaluation was as high as 69—95 %, class dependent. Caries progress with inflammatory complications (pulpitis) was observed in 5 % cases of class II fillings.
